Racing Season starts May 1stwith Practice Race Night on May 1. There are 36 races on this season’s calendar from May to December. As you know, Racing Members are required to volunteer as Race Committee during the season. We currently have 34 Racing Members. A few boats will need to volunteer more than once. Now is the time to sign up.
Here’s How To Sign Up!
To sign up for RC duty on the website, go to Racing-->RC Sign Up 2024. The Race Committee Sign Up page is displayed with a list of the 2024 races. This list also shows some of the volunteered races. (Please note this is not a “real time” list. It is hand modified, so I only update it every few days. In other words, you may choose a race that already had someone volunteering.)
Click the race that you want and the Race Event page is displayed. Click the Volunteer! Button. The Volunteering Oppurtunites page is displayed. If the race is available, you will see 1 Spot Left. Otherwise, it will display Full-0 Spots Left.
If the spot is available, select Volunteer Yourself. The I Want to Volunteer page is displayed. Complete the field and check the Register box and click Next.
The I Want to Volunteer Summary page is displayed. You can make modifications from here by clicking the Pencil icon. Otherwise, the Finish button. You will receive an email verifying your signup.
Sign up as soon as you can to get the date you prefer. If someone else has the date that you want, contact that person directly and work out a trade. As the season progresses, it will be your responsibility to find a replacement if you are unable to be RC on the date you select.
