From Active Captain and the Waterway Guide: Located about 25 miles from Herring Bay. A few miles up the Tred Avon from Oxford, MD, with straightforward navigation into the creek and no surprising shoaling. Trippe Creek makes a nice overnight anchorage on still, summer nights when a cooling breeze is desired. A quiet large cove with excellent holding in 9-10 feet of water, outstanding scenic location and can accommodate many boats. In the dead of summer, although protected from high winds, it is large and open enough to appreciate the refreshing breezes. Some of the grandest mansions you'll find on the Bay and you can swim and paddle board in nettle-free water. Another advantage: you will be far enough out to be away from mosquitoes. This is one of the best places to spend a quiet evening or to let the kids go for a swim.
