Capt. Wendy Kravit learned to sail with the University of Wisconsin Hoofer’s sailing club in Madison, Wisconsin sailing and racing dinghies, 420s and scows. One of the primary reasons she moved to Annapolis in 2003 was to resume sailing after spending many years too far away from the water and purchased a C&C 30 to start getting into cruising. After a few years, she upgraded to an Island Packet 37 and aside from the typical Chesapeake Bay gunkholing, she sailed Eos round trip to Bermuda twice and made several trips up the eastern seaboard as far north as Provincetown on Cape Cod. She earned her USCG Captain’s license about 4 years ago. Wendy most recently single-handed her Island Packet 37 to the Exumas, Bahamas for the winter of 2013-2014. She is currently outfitting her latest and third sailboat, an Island Packet 420, for off-shore sailing.
